College introduction

Founded in 1986, the college was originally the Department of Acupuncture & Moxibustion and Tui Na of Zhejiang College of Traditional Chinese Medicine. In 2003, the college merged with Zhejiang Chinese Medical College Clinic and was renamed as the Third Clinical College of Medicine in 2006. In 2017, The College of Rehabilitation Medicine was added and is co-located with the Third Clinical College of Medicine. The Third Clinical College of Medicine offered three undergraduate majors as follows: Acupuncture&Moxibustion and Tui Na, Rehabilitation Therapy and Rehabilitation of Traditional Chinese Medicine, as well as Acupuncture&Moxibustion and Tui Na 5+3 Top Talent Class, of which Acupuncture&Moxibustion and Tui Na is a national first-class undergraduate major construction site, the first category of characteristic majors of the Ministry of Education, one of the Key construction majors in provincial universities, one of the advantageous majors in the 13th Five Year Plan, emerging characteristic majors, and international majors. Rehabilitation therapy and traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation are the first-class undergraduate majors in the province. The college has 2 first level discipline postdoctoral mobile stations, 6 doctoral degree authorization points, and 17 master's degree authorization points. It manages 14 graduate training bases in parallel, including Ningbo Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Shaoxing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Wenzhou Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, and so on. Clinical medicine has entered the top 1% of the


ESI discipline world rankings. The college has over 70 full-time teachers, including 20 professors and 34 associate professors and 38 teachers with doctoral degree and 30 with master's degree. There are 17 doctoral supervisors and 141 master's supervisors; 2 experts with special allowances from the State Council, 1 national-level “master teacher” in “higher education stage of traditional Chinese medicine”, 3 provincial-level “master teachers”, and 1 provincia-level outstanding teacher, 1 national-level outstanding scientific and technological worker, 1 Qihuang scholar in the "Million and Ten Thousand Talents Project" for the inheritance and innovation of traditional Chinese medicine (Qihuang Project), 1 young top talent in the national "Ten Thousand Talents Program", 8 national instructors for the inheritance of academic experience of old-aged Chinese medicine experts, 4 provincial-level national medical masters, 11 provincial-level famous Chinese medicine doctors, 1 Young and Middle-aged Expert with Outstanding Contributions in Zhejiang Province, and 2 provincial leading talents in medicine, 2 leading experts in the provincial “Ten Thousand Talents Program”, 1 fund recipient of Provincial "Qianjiang Talent Program" Class D project, 1 distinguished professor of provincial-level “Qianjiang Scholar”, 1 key funding training object from the Provincial-level “151 Talent Project of the New Century”, 1 first-level training object, 1 second-level training object, and 6 third-level training objects, 1 recipient of National Outstanding Youth Science Fund,, and 7 provincial health innovation talent training objects. There are 11 new talents in the provincial medical field to be trained, 6 national excellent clinical talents of traditional Chinese medicine, 15 provincial-level young and middle-aged clinical experts of traditional Chinese medicine, 3 provincial-level young and middle-aged academic leaders in university to be trained, 4 training objects of the “Provincial University Leading Talent Training Program”, 2 national backbone talents of traditional Chinese medicine nursing, and 1 provincial excellent talent of traditional Chinese medicine nursing.


College and the affiliated third hospital have adopted the policy of managing college and hospital with one unified management. The affiliated hospital has been designated as Grade 3A TCM hospital by both State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine and Zhejiang Province; it belongs to the first batch of TCM standardized residency training bases. The hospital boasts three national clinical key specialties, i. e., acupuncture and moxibustion, massage, and rehabilitation. There are 3 key disciplines of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, 1 provincial "top priority" discipline, 5 provincial key disciplines of TCM, 1 provincial key laboratory, 1 national TCM (Level 3) scientific research laboratory, 1 provincial university innovation team, 1 provincial scientific and technological innovation team. There are 1 national high-quality course, 1 national high-quality resources sharing course, 1 national high-quality video open course, 1 national high-quality online open course, 1 national TCM alliance MOOC course, 4 provincial high-quality courses, and 2 provincial high-quality online open courses. The college’s “double pass and double integration” talent cultivation model won the second prize of Zhejiang Provincial Teaching Achievements. In addition, two provincial teaching teams have been approved, and two Provincial Teaching Achievement (Second Prize), two provincial Education Technology Achievement Awards, and one third prize have been awarded; and a number of other prizes have been awarded such as the special prize of the provincial "Internet + Teaching" excellent teaching cases. The college focuses on scientific and educational innovation. In the past ten years, it has won more than 300 projects at departmental and bureau level and above, and has received more than 35 million yuan of funding for the projects, won more than 40 scientific and technological achievement awards of various types, and has obtained 20 national invention patents and 78 utility model patents.
