(I) Introduction to the Discipline:

Honors: TCM Tuina was approved as a key discipline of TCM by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (SACTM) in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" in 2012, and was selected as a high-level key discipline construction project of TCM by the SACTM in 2023. The department is a national key clinical specialty (TCM project) of the Ministry of Health, the Quality Control Center of Tui Na of Zhejiang Province, the vice president unit of the TCM Education Tui Na Discipline Union of the Ministry of Education, the leading unit of the Zhejiang Tui Na Specialty Union, the vice president unit of the Tui Na Specialty Union of East China, the leader of the National TCM Clinical Guidelines Revision Project, the vice president unit of the Spine Specialty Committee of the World Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (WACCM) and the vice president unit of the Chinese Manipulation Specialty Committee of WACCM, as well as the vice president unit of the Chinese Manipulation Specialty Committee of WACCM. Plan for the Development of the Discipline: The discipline takes lumbar disc herniation, cervical spondylosis and thoracic spondylosis as the main research advantageous diseases, takes improving the clinical efficacy of TCM Tuina in treating the advantageous diseases and the mechanism of its action as the main goal, and focuses on strengthening the construction of the discipline's clinical bases, upgrading the research platform of key technology of TCM Tuina and cultivating the high-level talents of TCM Tuina. In addition, a series of basic research and clinical application research will be carried out with biomechanics as the experimental platform.

Achievements: More than 200 academic papers have been published in domestic and international journals. The department has published and participated in the writing of more than 80 monographs, of which more than 20 have been edited and participated in the teaching materials of the Twelfth Five-Year Plan, Thirteenth Five-Year Plan and Fourteenth Five-Year Plan. The department actively carries out various new technologies and projects, among which "the Technological Innovation and Clinical Standardization Application of Lever Positioning Manipulation in Treating Lumbar Intervertebral Disc Herniation" won the second prize of Science and Technology of Zhejiang Province. It has enriched and developed the theoretical system of the discipline. It also focuses on actively exploring the research methods of the discipline.

Lv Lijiang is a professor of Zhejiang Chinese Medical University, chief traditional Chinese medicine practitioner and doctoral tutor. He is the leader of National TCM Clinical Key Specialty, the director of Zhejiang Tuina Quality Control Center, the vice chairman of the TCM Education Tuina Discipline Union of the Ministry of Education, the vice chairman of the East China (Yangtze River Delta) Tuina Specialty Union, the leader of the National TCM Clinical Guidelines Revision Project, the vice chairman of the Spine Committee of the World Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine (WATCM), the vice chairman of the TCM Manipulation Committee of WATCM, the vice chairman of the TCM Committee of the Chinese Society of TCM, and the vice chairman of the Tuina Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Traditional Chinese Medicine. 1. Basic experimental and clinical research on the treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc herniation by Tui Na characteristic manipulation.

2. Basic experimental and clinical research on the treatment of adolescent scoliosis by Tui Na special techniques.

3. Research on the mechanism and clinical application of Tui Na technique on adolescent scoliosis.

4. Biological effects of Tui Na techniques on pain of spinal diseases and R&D and application of Tui Na intelligentization.

5. Research on characteristic therapies of Tui Na to prevent and treat pediatric diseases.
