(1)Discipline Introduction:
Titles: The discipline of Rehabilitation Medicine of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) was approved as a Key Discipline of TCM by the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine during the 12th Five-Year Plan Period in 2012. It is also the National Clinical Key Specialty (TCM Program) of the Ministry of Health, Key Specialty during the 12th Five-Year Plan Period of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the leading unit of Zhejiang Integrative Medicine Rehabilitation Quality Control Center, the leading unit of Zhejiang Integrative Medicine Rehabilitation Specialty Alliance, the lead unit for the revision of National TCM Clinical Guidelines, the lead unit of the Professional Committee of Rehabilitation Medicine of the Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine Society of China, and the lead unit of the Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine Branch of Zhejiang Rehabilitation Medicine Society. 

(2)Discipline Planning:
This discipline focuses on stroke, osteoporosis, and bone and joint diseases as the main research diseases. The main goal is to improve the clinical efficacy of TCM rehabilitation therapy on advantageous diseases and explore the in-depth mechanisms of its effects. The key points are to strengthen the construction of clinical bases for the discipline, enhance the platform for key technological research in TCM rehabilitation, and cultivate high-level talents in TCM rehabilitation. 

Achievements: During the 12th Five-Year Plan period, the discipline has successively published over 190 academic papers in domestic and foreign top-tier journals, including 15 SCI papers. 10 monographs have been published or participated in editing, including 4 planned textbooks for the 12th Five-Year Plan period. The discipline has actively carried out new technologies and projects in the hospital, among which the new technology of the mirror therapy has won the third prize of the hospital's new technologies and projects. The theoretical system of the discipline has been enriched and developed. Active exploration has been made on the research methods of this discipline. 

Discipline Lead: Yao Xinmiao, Chief TCM Physician, Professor, Ph.D Supervisor. Expert of the National Veteran TCM Experts' Studio for Inheritance, Guiding Professor for the Inheritance of Academic Experience of National Veteran TCM Experts in the 5th, 6th and 7th Batches, Famous Physician of TCM in Zhejiang. He currently serves as the academic lead of the National Clinical Key Specialty of TCM, Chairman of the Professional Committee of Rehabilitation Medicine of the Integration of Chinese and Western Medicine Society of China, Deputy Director of the Acupuncture and Moxibustion Branch of the China Association of Chinese Medicine, Deputy Director of the Bone Injury Branch of the China Association of Chinese Medicine Promotion, Director of the Professional Committee of Integrative Medicine Rehabilitation of Zhejiang Rehabilitation Medicine Society, and Director of the Spinal Manipulation Branch of Zhejiang Association of Chinese Medicine. He was awarded the "Outstanding Contribution Award for 30 Years of Rehabilitation in Zhejiang" by Zhejiang Rehabilitation Medicine Society.

1. R&D of intelligent rehabilitation system for bone and joint diseases based on "tendon-bone dynamic balance"

2. R&D of intelligent rehabilitation equipment based on meridian-nerve regulation theory

3. Integrated industry-academia-research-application model construction for rehabilitation of hearing impairment using integration of Chinese and Western Medicine
